The platypus holds food in its cheek pouches just like a chipmunk! This cat sized, egg laying mammal has many other characteristics found in other animals. It can sense prey movements through its beak, like a shark or dolphin; has venom, like a snake; and webbed feet, like a duck – and that's just naming a few! Find out more about this monotreme in the 5th book, Platypus Parallel, in this animal series by M. C. McNellis.
